Characters: Orta

A mysterious girl that we see imprisoned by the Seekers in the beginning of the game. Orta is half drone/half human, because the drone Azel used her genes together with that of the human's gene data in Sestren to create her. The name of this human is not revealed, but it was probably Edge, since he stayed in Sestren at the end of PD Saga. We don't know why Azel created Orta, but she had left a message in Sestren, hoping that Orta would someday hear it. In that message she explains that, after the end of her fruitless searches, Orta was her only answer. Most believe that this means she didn't find Edge, only his DNA.

According to Azel, Orta has the power to change the world. However, we don't know what this power is, and perhaps the Seekers thought she was actually a weapon, similar to Azel's original purpose. The Seekers called her "the harbinger of destruction" and said they needed her for war. They seemed to fear Orta, but we don't know where this fear originated from. I think it's possible that Orta is able to operate the ancient ruins and use them to restore the world. If this is true, then she could be dangerous. Azel gave Orta a free will, she isn't programmed to fulfil a certain goal like other drones were, but this means she could choose to use that power to control the world, just like the Ancients did.

However, we can't be certain that she does have this kind of power, and Azel may have meant something completely different. Pandora's Box reveals that there were whole tribes of drones living in the borderlands, before the foundation of the Empire. These drones had nothing left to do after the Fall of the Ancient Age because the ruins had shut down. Somehow they survived for 10,000 years (since they couldn't reproduce, could this mean Drones were immortal?). Although they still remain hidden from the Empire, it's possible that in the future, these tribes could come in contact with the humans. We don't know what consequences this may have, and Orta's "power" may simply be the ability to unite these two different civilizations.
Orta's decisions in the future may hold the fate of the world. I hope we see a sequel to the PD series, so we can see her story continue.
