Characters: Mobo

Mobo belongs to a tribe called the Wormriders. These people try to live with the bio-engineered creatures instead of trying to wipe them from the face of the planet, which is, or should we say was, the Empire's goal (I say "was" because they want to use them for their own purposes now, as we see with the dragonmares). The Wormriders have successfully domesticated creatures like the Baldor, on which they can be seen flying around and hunting for mutated biomonsters. Mobo encounters Orta early on in the game while he's hunting in the Forest of Mutation, and although he thinks Orta is an Imperial soldier when he first sees her (well, actually five minutes after he first saw her), they become friends later on, and Orta is invited to stay at their village, which is actually situated on top of a Lathum, a gigantic biomonster.

Mobo seems to keep the Baldor he rides under control through the use of something called a Power Stone (mentioned in the PDO manual). This stone is attached to a staff which Mobo waves in front of Hamah-hamah (the name of his Baldor).
Although Mobo's skin seems to be green, I think it could be paint, as Elder Ponta, the leader of the Wormriders, seems to have a brown color and the Wormriders have other markings painted on them. It's also possible that the environment they live in changes their skin into green and later brown color.
Mobo's role in the game doesn't seem that great, but his friendship with Orta could be more important than it seems. In fact, the Wormriders were kind towards Orta, while Abadd, the Empire and the Seekers were only interested in the power she holds. Orta's view on the world changed when she stayed at the Wormriders' village, and that could play an important role in her future. |
