Areas: Glacial Plains

Situated in the northernmost lands of the Continent, this area froze over at the same time the Ancient Age ended. The landscape is for the most part filled with snow and ice, but towards the sea (or lake, I'm not sure) a number of impressive ruins are situated. They show pillars that reach into the sky and show remains of a number of plateaus that were built around the pillars. I think this may have been a sign that there was overpopulation in the Ancient Age, and the Ancients built several floors to save more space for buildings.

| The bridge towards the end is still more or less intact, only slightly deformed perhaps due to earthquakes. When the end-boss tries to destroy the bridge to stop Orta and Lagi, the bridge withstands the energy blasts, and only collapses when the bio-monster rams the pillars, again showing just how solid these constructions were.

Although I believe that it was the Ancients who built these ruins, others believe that there may have been a civilization that existed in-between the Fall of the Ancient Age and the rise of the Empire. I find this to be unlikely, due to the fact that the weather conditions must have made it extremely difficult to build anything, let alone these kinds of pillars. If you have your own idea about the true origin of these ruins, or if you'd like to write your own view on this area, I'd be more than willing to add it to the site. |
